SUMMARY:Incubation Biology and Hatchery Management Course (by Wageningen University)
DESCRIPTION:Incubation Biology and Hatchery Management\n\n\n\nLearn about this course\nIntroduction\n\n\n\n\n\nTo obtain best quality chickens and optimal hatchery benefits\, all links in the production chain of day old chickens should be optimized. Not only the quality of the hatching eggs but also issues as egg storage and conditions during incubation are important to come to optimal chick quality. To achieve this\, not only management aspects during egg production and incubation should be considered\, but also an effective use of the available information from the hatchery itself is important. Incubation related parameters are continuous in development and thus need to be updated regularly. In the course ‘Incubation biology and hatchery management’\, new insights from research and developments in the field will be presented. The program is an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge and understanding\, but also to meet and discuss with colleagues interested in the same field.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor who is this course fitting?\nTarget audience\n\n\nThe course is aiming at enriching knowledge of professionals (academic level) and is intended for hatchery managers\, poultry biologists\, incubator manufacturers\, engineers\, poultry breeding companies\, technical managers of poultry integration companies\, veterinarians\, researchers and teachers in poultry science. Furthermore\, participants from the supplying industry and governments are welcome in this course. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearning outcomes\nLearning outcomes\n\n\n\nExplain the latest scientific insights regarding best practices of incubation biology and hatchery management.\nApply these insights in your daily practice as the knowledge is translated into practical applications.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgramme details\nProgramme\n\n\nThe course includes a variety of presentations spread over two consecutive days. The topics are introduced by a number of experts. There will be sufficient opportunity for discussion. In this course we will pay attention to the following subjects: \n\nHandling and care of hatching eggs\nCritical factors in the incubation process\nHandling of the risk factors in the hatchery\nOptimization of hatchery processeswebsite:  https://www.wur.nl/en/education/for-professionals/programmes-and-courses/incubation-biology-and-hatchery-management#introduction-1
